After dinner, the whole family finally has a little time to themselves.
The kids are playing in the living room, your partner is getting ready to watch some TV, and you also want to use this half hour to get some movement in.
But if you go to the gym now, the trip there and back will take up a good amount of time. If you go to another room to work out alone, you’ll miss the time you could have spent talking or watching TV together.
So exercise can easily turn into a choice:
Either work out or spend time with your family.
But exercise doesn’t necessarily have to be separate from family time.
You can walk for a while while your family watches TV, complete an incline walk while chatting, or run for 20 minutes while everyone else is doing their own thing.
The real question you need to solve isn’t:
“How can I squeeze another 30 minutes of exercise out of family time?”
It’s:
“How can I use these 30 minutes to exercise while still spending time with my family?”
1. Let Exercise Fit Into Your Family Life
1.1 Exercise and Family Time Can Happen at the Same Time
Is everyone getting ready to watch 30 minutes of TV? Does your partner want to chat? Are the kids quietly playing in the living room?
All of these moments can become opportunities to exercise.
If you just want to get some movement in today, you can walk comfortably for 10–20 minutes. If you want a more challenging workout, you can do an incline walk. If everyone is busy doing their own thing, you can also fit in a jog.
You don’t necessarily need to step away from family life to get into workout mode.
The DeerRun Z10 Pro has a speed range of 0.6–7.5 MPH, covering different paces from easy walking and brisk walking to jogging and running.
For a family setting, this can be more practical than simply chasing a very high maximum speed.
Tonight, you may want to walk for a while while watching TV.
Tomorrow, you may have 30 minutes and want to get in a proper run.
On the weekend, you may not want to run too fast but still want to make your workout a little more challenging.
The same machine can adapt to these different situations instead of requiring you to complete the same type of workout every time you step onto it.
1.2 You Can Change Your Workout Intensity While Staying With Your Family
Making a workout more challenging doesn’t necessarily mean you have to run faster.
For example, your family may be watching TV while you still want to join the conversation. In that situation, constantly increasing your speed may not be the most suitable way to train.
The Z10 Pro supports 12 levels of automatic incline adjustment, up to approximately 12%.
Increasing the incline while maintaining the same or a similar speed can change the difficulty of your workout, so your only choices are no longer “walk faster” or “start running.”
That means the same 30 minutes of family time can be used in completely different ways:
0.6–2.5 MPH
Low-speed walking
3.0–4.5 MPH
Brisk walking + 6–12% incline
4.5–7.5 MPH
Jogging or running
You can exercise while still spending time with your family.
The family time stays the same. What changes is how you move during it.

2. Let the Treadmill Adapt to Your Family Space
2.1 When You’re Using It, Give It a Space Where You Can Actually Exercise
A machine designed for both running and incline training naturally requires more space than a Walking Pad intended only for everyday walking.
So if you’re planning to put the Z10 Pro in your living room, bedroom, or Home Office, its dimensions shouldn’t remain just numbers on a product specification sheet.
The Z10 Pro measures approximately 51.34"D × 26.77"W × 47.01"H when unfolded, with a footprint of about 9.55 sq. ft., roughly the amount of floor space occupied by a small desk. If you want to exercise while watching TV with your family in the evening, you only need to temporarily clear an area of this size. Once the workout is over, you can return the space to its original family use.
For a shared family space, what matters isn’t creating a dedicated workout area. It’s whether your existing space can take on an additional “exercise” function when needed.
2.2 After Your Workout, Give the Shared Space Back to Everyday Life
After your workout, the living room still needs to be used for talking and watching TV, and the bedroom can’t always have a treadmill taking up space. In a shared family space, where the treadmill goes when you’re not using it is just as important to consider before buying.
The Z10 Pro folds down to just 5.63 inches thick, about the thickness of several books, allowing it to be stored under a bed or sofa when not in use. The machine weighs approximately 34.5 kg and comes with transport wheels, making it easier to move when you need to change its location.
This means the treadmill doesn’t have to stay permanently in one room. During the day, it can sit beside your Home Office desk. In the evening, when the family gathers in the living room, you can move it closer to the TV. After your workout, you can store it away again and let the living room return to being a shared family space.
Wherever family life happens, exercise can follow. And when the workout is over, the space can return to its original purpose.
3. Let Every Family Member Have Their Own Workout Rhythm
3.1 One Treadmill Can Support Different Exercise Needs
The biggest difference between family members may not be who enjoys exercise more, but that everyone wants to exercise differently.
You may want to run for 20 minutes. Your partner may prefer a 30-minute incline walk. Other family members may simply want to walk at an easy pace for a while.
With a 0.6–7.5 MPH speed range and an automatic incline of up to approximately 12%, the same Z10 Pro allows different people to choose different ways to exercise.
Everyone can complete their own workout while sharing the same exercise equipment.
Through the PitPat App, you can also track workout data and add more interaction through challenges, leaderboards, and other features.
You can each complete your own daily workout and then look back at your exercise records for the week. Or you can join a PitPat Challenge together and bring your different workouts into one shared family goal.
Your workouts can be different, while “moving a little more this week” can be something you share.

3.2 Different Days Can Have Different Workout Rhythms
Every day comes with a different schedule and a different energy level. Sometimes you only have 15 minutes; sometimes you have half an hour. Some days you just want to move a little, while on other days you feel good and want to increase the intensity.
PitPat AI Coach can recommend different workout modes and training content based on your condition and training goals that day, allowing your workout to adjust to your rhythm instead of repeating the same plan every day.
What you share is family time, not the same workout plan.
While spending time with your family, you can still exercise according to your own goals, giving each workout a clear direction instead of giving up your exercise plan for the sake of family time.
4. Let the Treadmill Adapt to Your Life, Not Change It
The biggest difference between using a treadmill as a family and using one alone is that the treadmill becomes part of not only your workout space, but also your family’s living space.
So before buying, you can use a different standard to judge it:
Instead of asking, “Does this treadmill have enough features?” ask, “Will putting this treadmill in our home change the way we already live?”
If every workout requires clearing a large area, disturbs the people around you, or means leaving your family to exercise somewhere else, then even a treadmill with an impressive list of features may struggle to become part of everyday life.
On the other hand, if it can move into the living room, Home Office, or bedroom when needed, give the space back to your family after the workout, and still allow you to maintain your own training rhythm, then the treadmill is no longer just another piece of fitness equipment sitting in your home.
A treadmill that truly works for a family doesn’t require everyone to change their lives around it. It gives each person the space to choose how they want to move.
